Please join VFAR Board member Jabari Brisport for a Black Animal Rights Organizer Call. We'll be discussing the fur ban in more detail and talking about followup steps. About Jabari: A public school teacher and former City Council Candidate, Jabari just went on NY1 last week to support the NYC fur ban. Lobbying For Animals Organizing Meeting
Effective advocacy doesn’t end with a phone call or email to your elected officials. The legislative process is often long and we must be a steady voice through the entire process. This workshop is for NYC residents who have an interest in learning how to organize for animals in their City Council district.

This interactive lobby 102 will build off the lobby 101 trainings held last month. Effective advocacy doesn’t end with a phone call or email to your elected officials. The legislative process is often long and we must be a steady voice through the entire process. This training will introduce advocates to a set of advanced lobbying tools to get laws passed for animals. We will cover how to set up meetings with your council members, build a city council district leader program, and how to directly lobby your elected officials.

City Council Hearing to Ban the Sale of Fur
